Horse Creek

Horse Creek is a community on the Rosebud Reservation in Southwestern South Dakota that West Nidaros has partnered with for over 40 years. We travel there at least twice a year, once in the summer to lead VBS and work on projects and then again the week before Thanksgiving to serve a meal and deliver Christmas presents.

The Mission and Outreach team is collecting the following items for their November 18, 2023 trip to Horse Creek:

1. 65 boxes of cereal

2. Packages of toilet paper 

3. CLEAN, WARM WINTER OUTERWEAR only, including coats, hats, gloves, mittens, boots. Please label bags.

4. Blankets and Bedding. Please label bed sizes.

5. Christmas gifts for HC children. Please choose a child's name and purchase a gift or sponsor a teen toiletries kit. Suggested amount is $20. Names in entry.

ALL items need to be in church no later than Wednesday, November 15. Thank you for your continued support of this mission!

ELCA Missionary Support

West Nidaros Lutheran Church supports the missionary work of the Rev. Dr. Elisabeth Johnson in Cameroon. Elisabeth serves as a seminary professor at the Lutheran Institute of Theology in Meiganga, teaching students preparing for service as pastors and leaders in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cameroon and other countries in western Africa. She also assists in providing continuing education opportunities within the church in Cameroon and in creating networks and connections between the Theological Institute and other global theological institutions.

Baltic Food Bank

The Baltic Food Bank is located in the Old School Gym and is open the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and the 4th Saturday of each month from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.  A photo ID must be presented and you must be a resident of the City of Baltic to receive goods.
